Let's Take A Pause For The Cause.
We are going to keep it real 100 for a moment here, not everyone has the time to do a 1hour, 30min, or even a 5 min meditation in the middle of the day to keep stress at arms length or more...
With that being said, you probably know that meditation is a great stress-reliever. You also realize that when you exercise, if you are doing it right, afterwords you feel great. This feeling of personal accomplishment is actually triggered by a release of hormones that fight stress and make you feel good about yourself. The power of taking frequent breaks throughout your day is a commonly known stress-reliever as well.
So, what happens if you try all of these and other well known stress busters, and you are still feeling anxious, and stressed out?
Perhaps you should try some proven, little-known techniques for reducing the amount of stress in your life. Take the following lesser-known steps for stress-relief and you will experience more peace and tranquility, and less anxiety, in your daily routine.
* Drink Orange Juice
The physiological process that happens inside your body when you ingest vitamin C naturally lowers stress levels. According to scientific studies, just 2 glasses of orange juice each day can significantly lower your cortisol level. Cortisol is known as the stress hormone, and regulating it can significantly reduce the possibility of stress. Prolong exposure to cortisol can also interfere with maintaing a healthy weight. So, please do your body a favor and find creative ways to to keep this hormone in it's proper place.
* Break Out The Nail Polish Or Permanent Marker
Cell phones have become a necessary nuisance. We use these hand held super computers in almost every moment of our lives. We use the to play games, run businesses, listen to music, oh yes and to make and receive phone calls. The problem with this is that the phone calls can get to the point where it is more counter productive and can sometimes invade your space as well as the space of the people around you if you let it. So here is a little trick to keep things in perspective.
Using nail polish, or some other type of permanent marking device, place a small dot of color on your cell phone, where you can't miss it. Tell yourself this is a reminder to make a decision if this call is important enough to answer and to also take a brief moment to calm down and relax before you answer your phone. Seemingly endless telephone calls and text notifications can create high levels of stress. When you see that colored dot, pause, take a deep breath, and smile before you answer your phone or text. Remember if it is not an emergency the person on the other end can wait, because your health is more important.
* Start A Stressed To Blessed Journal
Journals are a great way to put life's chaotic nature back into perspective. It allows you to see things as they really are. Journals can give you the chance to prioritize, take responsibility and ownership of your life. Stressed to Blessed Journals specifically creates a space to speak life into every situation that can cause you to feel like you have lost a grip on life. To start a basic journal you must be honest with yourself and make a list of all the things you want to address. Next pick your first stressor that you want to turn into a blessing and put it at the top of the next blank page. Third begin to see how this particular stressor would be different if you began to call those things that be not as though they were. Change your view point about the subject at hand. Write down your new vision for your life and make it as clear as possible. Now write down the steps you believe will get you there and start implementing at least one step right now.
